BOO Pumpkin Candlestick Accents!
Not long ago my daughter found a couple of pictures of Halloween décor ideas she loved and asked if I might be able to create them for her.
Now who can say no to their daughter?!?
Not I! So I set out to make each one of them.
BOO Pumpkin Candlestick Accents
The first picture she sent my way was these adorable BOO Pumpkins.
My first thought was that I would paint the pumpkins, (as you know if you have been reading this blog very long, I am fond of painting pumpkins). But when I was visiting my local Hobby Lobby, (I have three of them within 20 minutes of me! Woot! Woot!), I found these unpainted ceramic ones that I knew would work perfectly for this project.
I began by painting each ceramic pumpkin with a bit of watered down gray paint just to add a bit of dimension to each one, and painted the stem of each black.
To add a bit of my own “pizazz”, I decided to glitter the black stems. I began by giving them each a coat of Modge Podge.
And then sprinkled black glitter dust on each one. I loved the way they looked once they were dry.
At first I thought I might stencil the BOO letters on each pumpkin, but then ….. Remembering I had black vinyl for my Circuit machine, I simply cut the letters from the vinyl…..
….. And attached each one to a pumpkin. As the surfaces of the pumpkins were uneven, I had to work with the vinyl to smooth it out and snip it in a couple of places until it held smoothly against the pumpkin.
And voila! The BOO Pumpkins were completed!
See those cute little spiderwebs in the pic? Find out how easy they are to make HERE!

Time to blow the dust off my Cricut!
I agree Sandra. I don’t use my Cricut nearly as often as I should! I have several new ideas for ways to use it in my head. Stop back by and see if I get them done! 🙂
So cute Debi! Did you have the candlesticks already? Pinning!!
Yes Stephanie, I did have the candlesticks. I found them in the clearance aisle at Home goods last year. They were ugly when I got them but a little black paint turned them into something perfect for this project. Thanks for stopping by!
Very cute, I have some mercury glass silver candlesticks that are begging, LOL.
They would look great on those candlesticks! Hope you can create these soon!
Your BOO is much more adorable then their BOO!! Awesome mom!!!!
I try to be the best mom I can be! 🙂 Thank you for the compliment on the BOO candlesticks!
