Christmas Trees – I love the way they add so much to the holiday décor in the home. And doesn’t the Christmas tree bring to mind so many special memories of Christmas past? From childhood Christmas memories, to those we are creating with our family each year, the Christmas tree so often holds special memories of the holiday.
Call me crazy, but I love to add a Christmas tree to each room of my home.
If you have been following this blog over the last few weeks, you know I have a Christmas theme evolving in my decorating this year. Using newly created items, repurposed decorations and a very few purchased things, this theme has taken shape on my Christmas tree.
Christmas Tree in Red and Black
And so without further ado … let’s visit this 2014 Christmas tree in Red and Black!
These wonderful metal ornaments were a great Target find.
A tree topper was created out of black and red ribbons, accented with glittered berry branches.
“Tassels” on the tree were additions of plaid fabric simply tied on the branches of the tree.
The blossoms removed from a faux poinsettia plant were tucked into the branches of the tree.
Glittered word ornaments from years past add a bit of sparkle to the tree.
Inexpensive snowflakes were tucked into branches of the tree.
Simple plaid fabric ornaments were created to accent the tree. You can find how to make these ornaments HERE.
Berry glittered branches were added to the tree.
Honeysuckle vine from a plant on our hillside was wrapped around the Christmas tree in Red and Black, tying the look of “Glitz” and “Woodland” together.
Pine cones added even more of the “Woodland” look.
This small plaid blanket was used for the tree skirt. I found it at Target in my favorite aisle right inside the door for $3!!! It was a pet blanket!
My favorite time of day during the holiday season has to be the evening hours with the lights of the Christmas tree, the sound of Christmas carols softly playing and the peace of the season surrounding my heart.
Here’s hoping the comfort of the sacred holiday surrounds your life during the week before Christmas!
