I love the vibrant colors of yellow and green found in the citrus fruits of lemons and limes.
Today we are going to create a lovely outdoor table using a bright and summery citrus theme.
Citrus Tablescape
I found these bright colored lemon and lime placemats at Jo-Ann Fabrics in the clearance aisle last year. They were a perfect addition to a bridal shower I was having, (more on that in a later post).
And they were a wonderful touch to this outdoor citrus tablescape for two!
I began by spreading a bright, summery plaid tablecloth on the outdoor deck table. I found this cloth just a couple of weeks ago at TJ Maxx. I loved the bright, cool colors of the plaid fabric.
The lemon and lime place mats brought a fun look to the table.
To follow through with the citrus tablescape theme, I used faux fruits and added them to a crystal bowl placed in the center of the table for our afternoon dessert.
Miniature limes were dropped into the small goblets to add a fun touch adorning the glasses.
Our Lemon Vase finds its way onto the table, carrying through the citrus tablescape theme.
The Lemon Vase was created in a previous post. If you missed it, you can find it HERE.
I set the table outside and chose to use paper napkins. I found these napkins with the citrus pattern at TJ Maxx.
With so many beautiful patterns in paper napkins, I find myself using them often. Many times I build my table décor around a lovely pattern found on a paper napkin.
There was a wonderful breeze on the deck, so to hold the napkins in place before we eat, I choose to use clear plates, placing the napkins between two separate plates.
Once we remove the napkin, the pattern of the place mat shows through the clear plates, adding a lovely look to the citrus tablescape.
Don’t the cupcakes look yummy as they sit waiting on the plates?
What a relaxing look as we peer over the balcony overlooking the valley.
There is nothing better than sharing with a friend as we enjoy the warm breeze of the day on a sunny afternoon.
What’s your favorite way to spend a summer afternoon?
You created a refreshing summer table! I love the centerpiece! I went straight over to find out how to make this pretty arrangement. I was surprised that the lilies were silk! I was was brooding that I could not afford real flowers every week to set a table. LOL! I love the whole citrus theme! Great job! I would just love to sit outside and share a sunny afternoon with you!
Blessings My Friend,
I would love that too! I love fresh flowers but I am with you and can’t afford them all of the time so sometimes these faux flowers will fit the bill!
