The Easter holiday is approaching and it’s time to get the decorating done with the DIY Decoupage eggs I recently made HERE in this post. If I don’t get it done right away, I might as well pack them away for next year!
First I have to say we are lucky enough to live on 10 acres of wooded area and I have lots and lots of branches to chose from anytime of the year – spring, summer, fall or winter. The weather was beautiful here a few days ago and I was able to get out and enjoy it as I gathered up a few branches to hang my eggs on. I found these just across the lane from the house.
Once I had the branches I simply arranged them in a ceramic container I had once used in the family room. I added it to the table in the music room. It’s one of the first rooms you see as you enter through the front door and it was just the spot I wanted to add a touch of Easter.
Because we are still experiencing those chilly evenings, I always like to have the look of candlelight in the home. Candles always add warmth to a chilly night. The wonderful thing about these candles ~ they are artificial with the look of real. They amaze everyone who sees them. I have caught people actually putting their finger next to the flame – just to see if they are real. I hope to get a video posted with these in action but for now you will just have to believe me – these are the most life-like candles I have found. They are Luminara candles and they are wonderful.
Keeping with my more natural looking theme, I added these cute little bunnies I found at Tuesday Morning just a couple of weeks ago. I found these and a beautiful little set of white porcelain ones.
They really do show up better on my table than how they photograph here but I am guessing you can still see them sitting pretty under the candles.
As the eggs hung from the branches, they simply looked gorgeous sparkling in the flickering candlelight.
I had used a variety of different papers when creating the eggs and each individual one had it’s own special look.
I loved their reflection in the mirror.
Next year I want to create even more as I felt the branches could really have used a few more eggs but for now these twelve will have to do.
