Shortbread Cookies - With a Touch of Hospitality

Love the buttery taste of these shortbread cookies!
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. In large bowl, beat butter, powdered sugar and vanilla with spoon.
  3. Stir in flour.
  4. Roll dough ¼ inch thick on lightly floured surface.
  5. Cut into small shapes by hand or use cookie cutter.
  6. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until bottoms are light golden brown.
  8. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
