A couple of weeks ago my friend Amy contacted me to see if I might recreate a wreath she had seen at Pottery Barn. She lamented that every year the wreath had sold out before she could get hers purchased.
Always up for a challenge, I told her I would certainly try. Today I am going to share with you the results of the challenge!
Pottery Barn Inspired Harvest Pumpkin Wreath
Bring on the challenge!
I began by gathering together pumpkins, a grapevine wreath, leaves and berries. Most of the items were purchased at Hobby Lobby, except for a few faux pumpkins I was able to pick up at the Dollar Store. I bought all the Dollar Store had!
Of course, all of the pumpkins didn’t come in the colors used in the Pottery Barn Harvest Pumpkin Wreath. Several different colors and varieties had been used there. So out came the paint to transform the pumpkins! I had so much fun the first time I painted pumpkins, I couldn’t wait to do it again!!! If you missed my post on painting pumpkins, you can find it HERE.
There were some pumpkins I simply whitewashed to tone the color down.
Some I painted white and added the green accents to.
And others I painted and added the orange accents to.
I even created a couple of gourds too!
All of these pumpkins started out the same and ended up looking like a variety of different colors.
I loved the variety of painted pumpkins!
Once I had my pumpkins completed, I began preparing the wreath. I started with a simple grapevine wreath, cut apart a fall leaf bunch and added the stem picks evenly throughout the grapevine. Each stem was dipped into hot glue to make sure it held firmly onto the wreath.
I kept a picture of the Pottery Barn Harvest Pumpkin Wreath hanging close by to help me with my inspiration.
Once the leaves were attached, I began placing the pumpkins into the wreath, again dipping the stem into the glue to help anchor the pumpkins into the wreath.
After the pumpkins had been placed, I added just a few more leaves and the wreath was completed.
What do you think? Did I meet the challenge??
And here it is in Amy’s home. Don’t you think it looks just perfect here?

This is so inspirational – thank you!
I loved making the wreath. I am looking for another project to use this on as well.
You rocked it, Girl!!!! And your instructions and pictures were perfect!!! I see many bloggers give instructions and all they show is a before pix and an after pix and a couple of sentences. You showed the steps and instructions with the appropriate picture!! Even your painting-pumpkins-tips were sufficient to get good results. Pottery Barn is going to call you when they need more wreaths.
Your wreath is even BETTER than the Pottery Barn…more creative .
Your wreath is beautiful – perfect for fall and right through Thanksgiving!
This is absolutely stunning and you did a perfect job painting the pumpkins and gourds. I bet she won’t lament her missing out after this (especially since I am sure the Pottery Barn version cost a lot more!)
She loved it Rachel. Thanks for stopping by!
Glad to hear she loved it.This is so beautiful that I am featuring this tomorrow on Merry Monday at 9pm EST if you would like to join us again this week.

This is so cute! I love Pottery Barn, but their stuff can be expensive sometimes. It can be hard to splurge on something like this that I will only use for a month or two. I want to make this! Your tutorial makes it seem easy.
Thank you Jenna. I love Pottery Barn too. I hope you get your wreath made!
Your wreath is lovely. It’s an outstanding replica of the PB wreath. I love how you took the time to paint the pumpkins for just the right look.
Thank you for your kind words Beverly. I enjoyed painting the pumpkins. I was a fun project.
