Making a Nest!
I know! I know! You can purchase a nest at gift shops and nearly any craft store for not a lot of money, but I just love creating things myself and this Making a Nest was such a fun and simple thing to do.
First I started with some twigs that had come in a box of pumpkins I had purchased. I keep everything I come across, but you could just as easily use a handful of any small twigs that are pliable that you find around your yard or off of bushes you trim.
I secured them together with brown floral twig wire, (I purchased mine at a floral shop).
I continued adding the twigs together and wiring it with the twig wire until I had a piece long enough to form a circle, securing it with more of the twig tape.
You can see the completed wreath/nest here.
Once I had the small wreath/nest completed, I glued a large silk leaf to the bottom of the nest. Again, this was something I had kept off of a floral stem I had used in a previous project.
I then added a bit of Spanish moss to the top center of the wreath. This is a piece of faux Spanish moss that came on a large bush I had purchased at a floral shop, but any Spanish moss would work. This one just doesn’t shed and I love that!
I added a couple of small eggs that I had taken out of something else, but you can find them at any craft store.
You can make it in any size you want. They look cute sitting on a shelf, as a part of a table setting, or added to a wreath, as I have done here. You can find a post on how to create this wreath HERE.
Making a Nest! – Now wasn’t that simple!
Where do you get the twigg wire from?
