I shared with you yesterday a patriotic table setting I created with my daughter and sister while visiting in Illinois last weekend. We had a great time working together setting it up. I love my sister’s front porch. It is fabulous to work with when displaying spring and summer vignettes.
With the upcoming holidays, we decided to display a “patriotic porch” in the red, white and blue theme.
My sister has a marvelous white rocker she purchased at a garage sale. It didn’t even have a price tag on it. She just asked if they would sell it to her and they did – for just $20! What a bargain! I must admit, I am a bit “green with envy” over this purchase.
We hung a cute little Welcome sign on the back of the chair.
Chevron pillows added a bit of blue.
We draped a small side table with red, white and blue “bunting” fabric to add to the patriotic porch theme.
We carried through the theme by using red geraniums and apples as we had with the tablescape shown yesterday. If you missed that post you can find it HERE.
This time the geraniums were nestled into a beautiful antique blue and white sponge ware pitcher. These pieces are especially meaningful to all of us, as they belong to a collection my mother had loved. Small fabric flags were inserted among the blooms.
A blue striped yellow ware bowl held our apples. They look like they are perfect for an all American apple pie – but I am afraid they wouldn’t make a great pie as they are faux apples.
Don’t they look real???
A red geranium wreath hung on the window behind our setting. The wreath was another one of my sister’s garage sale finds. She is definitely a garage sale pro!
I love this look as we peer down the porch.
The whole look says “welcome” as we step onto the porch.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend as we remember all of the special people who have gone before us.
Absolutely gorgeous!!
