Recently I was shopping online at Pottery Barn and found these wonderful Faux Cherry Blossom Branches – perfect for a simple spring look.
But alas – when I went back to the site, I found they were no longer available. No problem – surely we can make these simple faux cherry blossom branches!
Pottery Barn Inspired Faux Cherry Blossom Branches
I began by gathering up branches from the hillside beside our house. This is the perfect time of year to gather branches for projects. Right before – or just as branches begin to bud and are pliable and easy to work with.
Remembering I had purchased white geranium bushes on clearance, (I think they were under $2), at the end of the season last year, I went searching for them in the workroom and dug them out. I love to use geraniums in my spring and summer decorating. You can see how I have used them HERE and HERE.
Removing the blossoms from the geraniums, they will work perfectly for the Faux Cherry Blossom Branches.
Once the blossoms were removed, I simply began gluing each one to the branches that had been gathered, using my hot glue gun.
Gluing them back to back in some points on the branch gave them a nice full look.
I continued to glue the blossoms onto the branches until I got the fullness and look I desired.
Once finished, each faux cherry blossom branch was arranged in a clear glass vase, anchored with marble chips in the bottom.
I added some faux pussy willow branches, (also bought on clearance at the end of last season), to the vase to bring bit of a spring feel to the arrangement.
These Faux Cherry Blossom Branches are just the right touch of Spring!
And best of all – because I already had everything – no cost!
