Simple Steps to Painting Ceramic
I loved this ceramic turkey I found at a thrift store but it was dated and the colors just didn’t work with my fall decorating.
Paint to the rescue!
I began by wiping down the piece with rubbing alcohol to clean and prepare the piece.
I then covered the ceramic piece with a coat of Primer Spray Paint. If needed, you can repeat the process with a second coat.
Allow the primer to dry on your piece.
The next step is to paint over the primer with your chosen color. I used Oil Rubbed Bronze to achieve the look on my piece.
To accent the feathers and give the piece dimension I lightly rubbed a bit of gold and copper Folk Art Metallics Paint on the ceramic turkey.
A light coat of Acrylic Spray Paint can be added for additional protection of your ceramic piece.
And you’re done!
Using these Simple Steps to Painting Ceramic you now have a whole new piece!
I loved the way it accented my fall display!
