It’s a party fit for a “Superhero”!
All we had been hearing about was – Hulk! – Captain America! – Spider-Man! …..
So it was no doubt our little guy would be having a Superhero Party when it came time to choose the theme for his birthday!
Superhero Party!
Now how can we create our “Superhero” atmosphere?
Let’s start by creating the look of the buildings where our Superheros reside. Easy enough to do – we simply cut the buildings from black and blue poster board … and using post –it notes in various sizes, we created the windows. (Yes, Post it notes! – how simple is that?) No cutting necessary! Search lights were cut from yellow poster board and added to the tops of the buildings.
We then placed them on the cabinets in the kitchen and transformed it into our very own Superhero City.
The Subway Tunnel led to the basement party room! So much fun to enter this way!
Nearly all of our Spider-man decorations were purchased at Kids Party World! You can come up with so many creative party ideas there!
This spider web game was so much fun! Heavy yarn was strung back and forth across furniture and chairs to create our web and the fun began as each little guest had to make their way through the web by crawling underneath to escape “entrapment”!
Each birthday party guest created their own black Superhero cape using black garbage bags. A variety of enhancements and stickers were provided to allow each to decorate his cape in his own style.
Throughout our party, our Superhero snacks were devoured by the guests.
“Hulk Heads” were an easy task using a Rice Krispie recipe. We simply colored our marshmallow mixture with green food coloring.
The Rice Krispies were made into a thick layer and cut into rectangles. Each was dipped into additional melted marshmallow and quickly dipped into chocolate sprinkles to create “Hulk Hair”!
How easy it was to make our “Thor Hammers”. Cheese sticks were cut into 1” pieces and pretzel sticks were inserted into each piece of cheese, creating our Hammers.
My special little helper had a great time making these!
Captain America’s shield was created by using circles of marshmallows and strawberries. An open star shaped cookie cutter filled with marshmallows was placed in the middle of the plate and encircled with blueberries. The circles of marshmallows and strawberries were added row by row.
Super simple and what a fun look!
Our “ Superhero” Power Aid was a simple lemonade.
And the hit of our snack table was our Spider-Man taco dip. He was so fun we hated to eat him! You can find out the step by step directions on how he was created HERE!
And no super hero birthday party is complete without the cake! Our resident family cake designer came up with a wonderful creation. How perfect is this? It captured all of our Superhero favorites!
A Superhero party for our own little superhero!
