Today I wanted to share a quick and easy project with you. A USA Sign – Farmhouse Style!
It’s almost so easy I can’t even actually call it a “project”.
I know the July 4th holiday has passed us by, but over the weekend I created this project and it is so simple I just had to share it with all of you. This also involves an element that I am loving, therefore I wanted to share it with you in case you might want to run out and grab a couple for yourself.
Not long ago my daughter shared with me a DIY project that involved these great boards she had discovered at Hobby Lobby.
I loved them and of course had to get one for myself. By using my 40% off coupon it only came to $8.99 for this wonderful board … and already mounted with the frame.
I had another project in mind … but while I was shopping I ran across these metal letters for 50% off. This made them just $1.49 each.
Total cost under $15.00.
As I am in a more “muted” or neutral decorating phase this project seemed perfect … and a bit of “Farmhouse Style”.
USA Sign – Farmhouse Style
I began by cutting a 1 1/2 inch strip of burlap I had on hand to fit the space between the frame. I frayed each long edge just a bit.
I glued each small edge to the board with a bit of tacky glue. I didn’t put a lot of glue on it in case I wanted to change out the ribbon in the future.
The letters were then placed over the burlap and on to the wood using small nails.
This was simple as the letters came with small hangers on the back making it very easy. For a more permanent sign the letters could be glued onto the wood, but I envisioned changing the letters our seasonally …. Maybe “JOY” st Christmas???
And that is it! Once I was done I sat it on and easel and added it to a vignette. It would also hang nicely on the wall as the wooden pallet plaque already comes with a hanger applied.
Love this simple project?? Head over t Hobby Lobby to grab one yourself …. or two!!
I have more inspiration I will be sharing soon using another one. I told you – I love them! And am not being compensated by Hobby Lobby to tell you so! 🙂
Love this USA Sign – Farmhouse Style project?
Having such fun looking at all of your creative and beautiful projects! Now just need to head to HL and hope they have some of the supplies in stock! Wish they were open at 10 p.m… LOL
That sign looks great! You’re very creative. That’s a good idea to not make the letters permanent so you can change out the word for other holidays.
Thank you Brenda! I love this board and I will be sharing another project soon! Hope to see you back!
